"We don't realize the extent to which we're denigrating the work itself and the people who are working those jobs...sending them a message that maybe you're a chump for being in the labor force at all if you can't become self-actualized in our creative economy," he said. Renn evaluates the hurting communities of middle America, facing drug addiction, poverty, and more. "The destruction of the family didn't occur in a vacuum. It didn't just happen. It happened because we deliberately changed policies and we have aggressively promoted social norms that are design to, for example, normalize out-of-wedlock births."
