For many the legend of the Wendigo began with author, Algernon Blackwood. Blackwood was considered one of the most prolific writers of ghost stories and supernatural fiction of the history of the genre. Blackwood wrote a short story titled The Wendigo. And if the story isn’t creepy enough as a work of fiction, it was based on his own personal experienced hunting in the Canadian backwoods. In the story, a group of men venture into the wilderness hunting moose. But instead, they what they find is a creature rooted in Native American legend. It was a creature that surely is only imagined in the worst of nightmares or maybe beyond your nightmares….
