Blackwood was considered one of the most prolific writers of ghost stories and supernatural fiction of the history of the genre. Blackwood wrote a short story titled The Wendigo. And if the story isn’t creepy enough as a work of fiction, it was based on his own personal experienced hunting in the Canadian backwoods. In the story, a group of men venture into the wilderness hunting moose. But instead, they what they find is a creature rooted in Native American legend.
