Description:

Rosie is passionate about seeing an end to modern slavery. Over the past 5 years she has fought to transform the healthcare response, promoting the recognition of modern slavery as a major health challenge to individuals and societies. In 2014, she founded VITA, an organisation working to ensure victims presenting in healthcare settings can be safely identified and supported, whilst advancing and facilitating national modern slavery prevention, intervention and survivor care. VITA training has now been delivered to more than 1,200 frontline NHS healthcare professionals and is being rolled out across London with a view to scale nationally.

Whilst working as a doctor in the Emergency Department, Rosie advises key Government policy on modern slavery and has drafted the healthcare section of the Home Office “Modern Slavery Act 2015 - Statutory Guidance”. She is a core member of the NHS England Modern Slavery Network driving the national agenda within healthcare and is a member of the Modern Slavery Strategy and Implementation Group shaping Government support for victims.

Whilst pursuing a career in General Practice, Rosie will continue growing VITA as a sustainable, evidence-based, survivor-focused

organisation, until the NHS represents the gold standard healthcare response.
