Description: This week, Sam speaks with an incredible woman, Pamela Bloom, about the importance of spiritual healing and the gift of connecting with those who have passed. Pamela Bloom is an award-winning writer, interfaith minister, inspirational speaker and sound healer whose work has touched thousands of people around the world. She began her writing career as a music and arts critic for top publications in New York City; her articles on everything from music to spirituality to op-eds have appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, New Age Journal, Village Voice, Parabola and many other publications. Eventually she became a globetrotting travel writer; both her books on Brazil--Amazon Up Close and Brazil Up Close--won the esteemed Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award for Guidebook of the Year. Pamela began meditating in 1978 as a formal student of the renowned Tibetan Buddhist master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and later Sogyal Rinpoche, author of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. She also has studied with the Advaita teacher Mooji in India, and practices Johrei and Reiki. At the age of 30 she experienced an intuitive opening and was led to combine her intuitive gifts with her love for singing, developing a unique form of multi-dimensional psycho-spiritual support she calls "Vibrational Healing." An embracer of miracles, she has seen clients come out of coma, heal long-standing emotional issues and reverse an HIV-positive status to negative. Pamela has given workshops on sound healing, light-body exercise workout, healing the ancestor lineage, creative writing, Brazilian music and other topics. Among Pamela's numerous books are: The Power of Compassion: Stories that Open the Heart, Heal the Soul and Change the World (Hampton Roads) and On the Wings of Angels. She is also the co-author of Heaven Speaks: Intimate Interviews with Illuminated Souls, a book she co-channeled as a conscious medium with Carla Flack. Presently she is a Contributing Writer at Science of Mind magazine, where you can read her recent interviews with Jean Houston, Caroline Myess and other leading-edge thinkers.( Originally recorded January 17, 2014)
