Description: on a special broadcast of The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Spiritual Counselor, Founder of Joy On Your Shoulders, and Author Joy Resor. It’s a problem so common it may qualify as a new American epidemic: "We’ve got no time." Too busy. Overwhelmed by work, family commitments, and the fast-paced nature of our society, many Americans feel strapped for time, and thus are leading less happy lives as a result. The problem, of course, is that time is fixed. Unlike money, friends, or Facebook followers, time isn’t something that we can expand through harder work, increased effort, or better connections. No matter how much we organize, delegate, plan, or abbreviate, the resource in question remains decidedly finite: There are just 24 hours in the day. How, during these times of change and transformation, can we learn to expand our time? Joining me on this special edition of The Conscious Consultant Hour is spiritual counselor, the founder of Joy On Your Shoulders, and the author of the new children’s book, Designed To Shine! Read-Aloud Rhymes For Any Size Heart, Joy Resor, and together, we are going to share how you can learn to expand your time.  Segment 1: Sam starts with quotes from The Universe and Abraham. The first quote talks about dreams in our life and that there are only two kinds of dreams. Those that have already come true and those that will come true. They may not always come true in the way that we think but in one way or the other, they will come to fruition. The second quote focuses on the importance of relationships. He talks about how we can bring these relationships into our life and what we choose to focus on in our life. Sam highlights that we are co-creators of our own life and that we should choose to focus on the great and uplifting things in our lives. Sam then introduces his guest Joy Resor who’s an author and spiritual counselor. She then talks about her background and her early passion for wanting to make peace in the world. Segment 2: Joy talks about the first two nonfiction books that she wrote and how she’s been writing her whole life no matter what she was doing at the time. She says that after her divorce she was able to tap into a new creative element in her life. She then goes into her upbringing in the Jewish faith and how she was the black sheep of the family. She vows to live in the moment and uses her heart to direct her decisions. She talks about the inspiration for her books, including the children's book she wrote. Segment 3: Joy talks about when and how she got the inspiration to become a spiritual counselor. She then talks about one aspect of teaching that she focuses on, which is the aspect of time. She explains how you can flow better with time and always making time for what you need to do. Joy talks about the ways you can manipulate time by blocking out outside noise and just focusing in the moment. She then goes into the issues of smartphones and she encourages people to challenge themselves to put them down. Sam and Joy talk about times in their life where they realized the significance of cellphone use and staying in constant contact with friends and family. They also talk about the impact that the media has on people, especially those who are hypersensitive.  Segment 4: Joy talks about certain things in our life that we don’t need to do ourselves and how this can create more time. This comes down to the idea of our constant choices on how to think and how to live. Joy talks about some of the daily practices that help keep her centered in her life. She has gratitude and daily journals that help get her into a comfortable space and she shares these passages with her partner. Sam relates this to the “victory log” and “positive bookends” that he keeps every day. Joy finishes by telling where you can find her work and how she came up with the slogan “Joy On Your Shoulders”.
