He has also authored numerous academic and professional articles on near-death experiences and the relationship of language to consciousness. Dr. Moody continues to draw enormous public interest with his ground-breaking works on the near- death experience and other transpersonal aspects of grief and the dying process. Lisa is a linguist, educator, and author ofWords at the Threshold. The book is based on data collected through The Final Words Project, an ongoing study devoted to gathering and interpreting the mysterious language at end of life. Lisa has co-facilitated presentations with Dr. Moody about language and consciousness at universities, hospices and conferences. Segment 1 Sam opens the show with the quote of the day from Abraham Hicks. Today Sam introduces his special guests, Dr. Raymond Moody, and Lisa Smartt, M. A., Lisa is a linguist, educator, and author of Words at the Threshold. Dr. Moody is a bestselling author of 12 books. DR. Moody opens up about how he began his career studying near-death experiences. He was initially interested in Astronomy in college and quickly gravitated to Philosophy. Segment 2 Dr. Moody touched on the hypocrisy they came across in Judaism and religion. His thoughts on reincarnation which led him to believe there has to be more. Dr. Moody also speaks about various near-death experiences and the basis he has to question many doctors and peoples near death experiences. Lisa Smartt talks about how she came into her career as a linguistic. She talks about her father's cancer and the moments that lead to his death. Lisa said she noticed her fathers language change, he had become nonsensical and was using metaphors. Lisa began transcribing her father's final words because she couldn't comprehend what she was witnessing. Lisa said she became obsessed and passionate with linguistics after her father passed away. Segment 3 Sam and Dr. Moody discuss why near-death experiences trigger psychic abilities. Dr. Moody states that he really doesn't know the answer to that and suggests some people who may have experienced near death may be more susceptible or open. Dr. Moody also talks about the many people he has come across who have experienced near death and have come back and say that this life is all about love, learning to love each other. Lisa talks about how she started the final words project and the barriers she had to cross while doing this. Lisa also said people were uncomfortable with collecting final words. She spent years learning how to collect the data, she invited people over to share their final words from their loved ones. She said she only asked people to share what they were comfortable sharing. Segment 4 Dr. Moody talks about the University of Heaven Project that he and Lisa are currently working on. Lisa talks about the launch of the project and the amazing authors who are contributing to the project. Dr. Moody touches on the perception of consciousness and the effects of psychedelics plants. In closing the show Lisa says that the longing to expand our consciousness is very profound.
