Today’s story is by F. Marion Crawford, and is included in his collection of short stories, Wandering Ghosts. This collection also includes the stories, “The Screaming Skull”, and “The Blood Is The Life” that we enjoyed last Halloween. If you missed these stories, be sure to download them from the podcast feed before the end of the month.

Did you ever have a doll that you were secretly scared of? My Grandma B had a monkey you would wind up and it would bang two symbols together and roll its bloodshot eyes while baring its teeth. Old School. Who would make such a thing nowadays? She was Austrian, and this story of a kindly old German doll maker reminded me of her, and that horrible monkey.

And now, The Doll’s Ghost, by F. Marion Crawford.
