One of the primary uses of a softbox is to give soft lighting, but with so many sizes available, which one should you use? That’s the question Gavin Hoey sets out to answer in this video by comparing small, medium and large softboxes. Gavin goes on to demonstrate why large softboxes are needed by using the 7’ Westcott Parabolic Umbrella in a shoot.
After the photo session, Gavin jumps into Photoshop where he shows you a few tricks to regain some control of the light from a large softbox.
