Trans issues are becoming more important in the modern political world. While civil rights organizations and activists fight to ensure trans individuals are protected equally under the law, politicians across the United States are pushing for laws that will restrict those very freedoms.
In this episode of the podcast, we look at some of the recent events that are shaping the discussion of trans topics in today's political landscape. Particularly, we look at the veto of a bathroom law in South Dakota, as well as the non-discrimination ordinance in Charlotte, NC. What these issues highlight is the importance of voting, namely electing the right people who will not adhere to party platforms that seek to suppress the rights of all Americans.
Trigger warning: Transphobia, violence
Additional warning: Involves discussion of Caitlyn Jenner
