I’d had enough of not feeling good inside (or outside), next came ultra running, wanting to build a proper aerobic (assuming thats the right word) base to free my mind (I find running to be utterly mindful), taking down mile after mile and race after race... loving every step I took and I completed the first step towards my mental rehabilitation with 100km race which gave me belief. With every step came new learning and new mindset where I suddenly got interested in the world we live in and I stopped taking my family for granted... I found Yoga and it changed my world (I go daily, I ran in the Lake District for my 40th birthday instead of a party and learnt that 55km mountain running is less about running and more about strengh (of which I had none!) this last week I found HIIT (thanks to my brother in law where we woke early every day for 7 days in a row and took down a 25 minute session, they’re all over YouTube) and it’s exactly what I needed to build the next phase needed in my life > BURST POWER (internal and external) - HIIT is jokes wow, so simple and so hard, I have no excuses to not take a session down a day (sometimes 2 if I am pushed). Last night I found CrossFit and the film I watched awoke a focus in me like never before (I wanted to be them, and I will), inspired by the ability of the best in show I’ve now set a new challenge to go hard for year 2 on building a true power system capable of taking me to places I can’t currently comprehend. I thought fuck it. I’ll post this video I just recorded as a flag in the ground for the journey I have ahead of me. (I also hired a strengh coach to compliment the incredible @samvillage_ who got me to believe in what fitness can truly do to life... NUTRITION + RUNNING / YOGA / HIIT + SLEEP = the platform for life #ONETEAM
