Some of her patients in rural Louisiana just couldn’t afford their thickener, and had to choose between paying the electric bills, putting food on the table, or thickener. So Hillary Cooper started a nonprofit organization called the Dysphagia Outreach Project, which is going to offer services like a dysphagia food pantry, support group setup program, and patient/caregiver/SLP educational materials, and more!
