Episode 234: This week Derek Meier joins the podcast and we delve deep into his studio practice that explores a wide range of materials including acrylic paint, fabric, and polaroid photos. While his early work was influenced by the figure he has developed his own language of abstraction through the years of making paintings that explore layered mark making and vibrant color. His work is currently part of a virtual exhibition entitled Blank Slate at Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis, (MN).
