It's always fun when Judika Illes comes to visit and it's also nice being able to talk about fiction for a change, so this show is the best of both worlds. Judika edited and did the introduction for The Weiser Guide of Occult Detectives. The book is a collection of 13 short stories of supernatural sleuthing dating from the mid 1800s through the 1920s and is representative of some of the best authors and stories of their time like Arthur Conan Doyle, Helena Blavatsky, Dion Fortune and Algernon Blackwood. The mysteries involve murder, demons, ghosts, shamans and even phantom monkey demons. Something for everyone! Judika's introductions to each story are precious nuggets of information that make the stories and the authors all the more interesting and we talked about the making of the book, told some tales, discussed the backstories and a whole lot more so listen in and find out which of the stories will definitely send shivers up and down your spine.
