Akora Resources (ASX: AKO) managing director Paul Bibby joins Small Caps to discuss the company’s development strategy for its high-grade Bekisopa iron ore project in Madagascar. A maiden resource has just been unveiled for the northern and central zones at Bekisopa totalling 84.5Mt at 67.6% iron, which Mr Bibby says will attract a premium as steel makers seek higher-grade, low impurity material to reduce carbon emissions. Akora is planning to initially develop a direct shipping ore (DSO) iron ore operation from high-grade outcrop at the project, which will provide a low-cost pathway to production and initial cash flow.
