	Description:		Out lesbian Otep Shamaya made her debut in 2000 with the band Otep and has released 5 full length albums. Otep has been featured on HBO's Def Poetry. The first printed collection of poetry and illustrations by Otep Shamaya was made available to the public in November 2006 exclusively on Lulu.com. In August 2007, the e-book Little Sins, her first electronic collection of printed poems and illustrations was placed in book form. In April 2007, CNN.com announced that Otep had been nominated for their "People You Should Know" special feature. She also wrote an OP/ED on the genocide in Darfur.
