“We’re doing a new project in China. To get on a plane and emerge in China is so powerful. You realise that the world is as big or as small as we make it and that design has the power to cross borders and transcend time and space.”
Commenting on the Hudson Yards development in New York Andre said:
“It’s the single largest private development in US history, a staggering amount of square footage. Our client at Hudson Yards said ‘we challenge you to show us something we’ve never seen before.'”
Andre was shortlisted for WAN’s 21/21 initiative three years in row.
In addition his practice was shortlisted for the restaurant and bar category for WAN’s sister brand World Interiors News and Andre is a WAN Awards judge this year.
