The Badass Lady Gang started as a hashtag. I thought it was fun and ironic to describe myself and the amazing folks I ran with as a badass lady gang. Badass because it’s a word that the health and fitness world would use to describe most of the athletes in the Badass Lady Gang. Lady because the thought of me being lady-like makes me laugh. Gang because it felt punny to use lady gang in a sentence together. ESPECIALLY a group of women runners. Movement is a word that I think gets thrown around a lot these days. EVERYTHING is a movement. But the Badass Lady Gang IS a movement. We’re a community of women connecting, inspiring, and motivating each other to do everything from getting out of bed in the morning to taking one more step when you don’t think you can. (Whether that’s on the run or in your life, it depends on the day.) It sometimes feels like the Badass Lady Gang was born overnight but the truth is, we’re over five years old. A lot happened in the five years since the BALG was born: -We created a vibrant, safe, kooky, and special corner of the internet. (If you haven’t joined our online community, CLICK HERE and get in here already!) -We brought the BALG community to cities from Cologne Germany to Duluth and San Diego with our in-person chapters and now we’re in the early stages of bringing our in-person chapters back after a year on hiatus due to COVID-19. -We became a by and for women runners training resource that focuses just as much on the mental game of running just as much as we do on getting and feeling stronger on the run. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to running, getting back into it, trying to redefine your relationship with it, chasing a PR, or just looking to have more fun, we have a training experience and training plan for everyone. -Hundreds of friendships have been forged. -And now, we have a new look. In 2020, I was able to finally give the Badass Lady Gang the glow-up it so desperately deserved. A brand new look that reflected the incredible community we’ve created in addition to a much-needed and updated BadassLadyGang.com (that will launch very soon). Last week, our 2021 Badass Lady Gang buffs debuted featuring our new logo and look.

And today, I am very, very excited to introduce you all to our brand new Badass Lady Gang Team Tank Top and Shirt.It’s really hard for me to describe what it feels like when I see someone run by in a Badass Lady Gang buff or tank top. Or when I see someone crossing a finish line or out there kicking ass and sporting their Badass Lady Gang pride. I honestly can’t describe it. There’s nothing like it. My heart jumps into my throat and I have to fight the urge to scream at and hug whoever it is running by. I feel instantly connected, invigorated, and a part of something huge. And I hope you feel that too. I can’t wait to see all the exploring, ass-kicking, friendships, and growth that happens over the next few years rocking our new look.
