Race week is here!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE that this week, you’re going to run your first 5K!?!?!

Here’s something I want you to really spend some time thinking about this week: NO ONE knows what we’re capable of. So when I ask you this, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THIS? There’s only one answer that isn’t true — NO. Because GANG-We have NO CLUE! But, you’ve put in the work. You’ve built the strength and endurance. And there isn’t a doubt in my mind that you can’t run this 5K!

Forward is a pace. It’s just one foot in front of the other. There’s no right or wrong way to run this turkey trot. HAVE FUN. That’s your job. FIND the fun and celebrate all the work you’ve put in.

Monday, we have a little dress rehearsal. So grab your FAVORITE playlist and head out for 15-minutes of conversational pace running.

Tuesday, head out for a walk or cross-train because it’s a flex day!

Wednesday, 10-minutes running at conversational pace. Shakeout those legs and get ready because…

Thursday, RACE DAY!!!!

You have this. You can do this. You’re ready.

RACE WEEK IS HERE!!!!!! Are you ready!? Well, ready or not…HERE WE GO!!! It’s TIME TO TURKEY TROT!

Monday, you have a little tune-up: 1 mile at race pace, 2-minute recovery, and then 4 x 400m at interval pace with 1-minute recovery between them. Fun? YES? OF COURSE it sounds fun!!! GO GET IT! (CLICK HERE to grab your paces)

Tuesday, just time on your feet. 30-40 minutes at conversational pace.

Wednesday, shakeout time! 30 minute run at conversational pace. Slow, strong, and steady.

Thursday, It’s race day!!! Make a plan today and go for it! Head over to VDOT (CLICK HERE) and using your last time trial, see what VDOT predicts you can do. Then, GO FOR IT!! Start strong and hold on for dear life! YOU CAN DO THIS. Give yourself your best and see what happens.
