Utilitywise, the independent utility cost management consultancy, released interim results today. Alongside this, the water market in England opened for competition on Saturday. The deregulation of English water means thousands of local businesses will have access to ‘choice’ in supplier for the first time. Given the increasing pressure on many small businesses in London following increases in business rates, rising energy costs and an uncertain post-Brexit future, Brendan Flattery, CEO of Utilitywise, has called on the Government to do more to make water deregulation work for London small business owners.
