A Sumerian hero story during the times of Gilgamesh that explores the descent into, and ascent from hell.
This story isn’t about Gilgamesh however, it instead follows Inanna. Inanna is the the goddess of heaven and earth. After tricking her grandfather Enki; the god of wisdom, into giving her the secret to accessing the underworld, Inanna descends into the underworld where her sister Ereshkigal rules.
