This is a lively baroque dance form that originated from the British jig. It was imported into France in the mid-17th century and usually appears at the end of a suite. Like many of the previous duets in 6/8, this one is played "in 2" by playing at a fast tempo and accenting the first and fourth beats of each measure. The metronome setting for this performance is dotted quarter note = 92.
