Raised working on machinery on a small farm in Gibsonia PA armed with an Engineering Degree Erik Buell paid his own way to Milwaukee. His first stop was Harley Davivson where Erik work on the development of the Porsche designed Nova V-four program. A rabid part time road racing Erik soon amicably left Harley to found the Buell Motor Company developing a raod racer created around the Barton engines from Great Britian. Erik was destined and later inducted to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2002.
