Hey sister! Dining out is a regular topic of conversation when it comes to achieving our transformation. Many like to believe that health and fitness means eating out of tupperware, having no fun when we are out with friends, and sitting at home chewing on kale. …..there is always a fear that we might make a mistake and often times we don’t know what to order or how to behave while we are dining out and often times when we do know what to get and we do know how to behave, we just don’t. Truth be told, if you want to create a substantial lifestyle transformation doing things that are a normal part of your routine is essential. It is how you go about doing these dining out and keeping it healthy when we are out and about. If you have struggled with staying on track while eating out listen in for your ultimate guide and your tips and tricks to dining out the right way. Here are three guidelines that will ensure you stay accountable and on track to your transformation: - Remember “my food, my way” and ask for what you need, whether they are substitutions or alterations, just do so nicely. A “thank you” goes a long way here. For example, you can ask “Excuse me, is this cooked in butter?” or “Please, substitute buns for a lettuce wrap. Thank you.” Do not be apologetic in your requests and most of the time servers will take them graciously.
- Think about what would fit your macros for that particular situation. You can compare what macro friendly meals you would normally have at home and aim for something similar. This takes the doubt out of tracking while dining out. If you are still within the first six months of your Sexyfit journey, I suggest you continue to track until you can eyeball your macros. This is the only time you can eyeball your macros! It is always a good idea to look up the menu to compare and contrast your options to those healthy ones at home.
- The one carb guideline: Dining out entails many carb options; breads, wines, pastas, desserts, etc. Unless you have been saving your carbs all day, choose one. This allows you still enjoy your meal but keeps you on track with your macros and your goals and helps you avoid binge eating. Starving yourself before dining out in order to feel like you can enjoy “good foods” can lead to binge eating and can blow your macros out of the water. Its important to avoid this by eating regularly and eating according to your transformation goal.
