Description:

Hey sister and welcome back to the Sexyfit Podcast!

I recently read some comments from women in our Sexyback program regarding why they are working really, really, really hard and not seeing the results they are expecting.

  • Why has my transformation become the most difficult task in the world?
  • Why am I failing to meet the expectations I set for myself ?
  • How can I get back on track, motivated, and actually have fun?

Why Has It Become SOOOOO Hard?

I am not here to lie to you and say that your transformation is going to be all rainbows and butterflies. That’s just not my style. Truth be told, it can sometimes get messy, difficult, and sometimes plain ugly.

When the priorities in our head get twisted as to WHY we are doing what we are doing. When we lose that connection then things become hard when they should really be effortless.  We need to step back and remember the reasons we embarked on the journey to our transformation or else we think "why am I doing this?" and then we throw our hands in the air and yell "screw it" and our efforts become burdens that  appear meaningless.

Hangovers Aren’t Just From Alcohol

I say this quite a bit but expectation hangovers are a thing (hangovers aren't only caused by too many drink on girl's night). We are so motivated to reach our goals and get the body we love that sometimes we expect outcomes that are not giving us the long term success that you are looking for. Sister, deadlines will make your journey a lot more difficult than it has to be.

Ditch time frames and deadlines. I understand that they add a sense of urgency but they also are doing more harm than good. We lose sight of what is important and we lose the purpose of self love, self honoring, and self nourishing. We are then left asking "why am I doing this for?". What is more demotivating than that? Nothing? Exactly.

If you have ever felt an expectation hangover after a break up, like I know I have  check out "Our No Nonsense Interview to Get Your Love Life in Shape with Relationship Coach Kelli Adame"

Making It Fun for Yourself

If your journey feels about as much fun as a root canal then something is seriously wrong.  If we just follow others' plans of what we should be doing, we start to not enjoy exactly what we are doing. There are many ways to connect to your body whether its yoga, Insanity, Crossfit, or my workouts  you need to do what doesn't feel like torture and what actually lets you have fun. Making this journey fun is going to take off the edge of how hard it is. Your transformation will be a hell of a lot easier if you are actually ENJOYING it and you will be drawn to actually doing it more and you won't dread that commitment.

Gratitude goes a long way sister. We don't really pay attention to the beautiful things our body can do and what we actually do. Endless criticism causes irrational behavior.

When we change our perception from self hate to self love, we start seeing a massive change. Being grateful for what you have accomplished and that goes a hell of a long way. In my book The Sexyfit Method share tips and tricks to discovering your why and cultivating long lasting motivation to get you through your transformation.

I want to end off with a big thank you to my community of incredible women!
