The Law of Least Effort: Preston describes flow as effortless. Flow mirrors nature and nature doesn’t try. The ocean and the waves don’t try to ebb and flow, they just do. This is the law of “least effort”, in which the universe is always moving a thousand steps ahead of us. This is a reminder to bloom where we are planted and choosing not wanting. Flow is about trusting what it is, loving what it is, and choosing but not wanting. Sister, this is so extraordinarily important. We get super attached to an idea of what we want and how it has to look like EXACTLY. When we date, we look for the perfect 6’2” GQ model when, in reality, the universe can have already sent us a fantastic man that happens to be 5’10”, not exactly male model material, but makes us feel incredible. And this is applicable in any aspect of our lives, sister. When we look at our vision boards, our jobs, our ambitions, we often have an idea of what it should look like and trying to achieve that aesthetic is soooooo stressful. So let’s just go with the flow and open our hearts to all the successes we have already achieved, in turn, that will motivate us to keep going on the path to our success, whether it’s our journey, career, motherhood, etc… Success in a Box (Some Assembly Required): As you already know, I moved here from Russia, at the age of sixteen. In Russia we were constantly reminded that we would always be poor and that was it. Nothing else. Imagine the culture shock of arriving somewhere where opportunities for “success” were abundant. However, this “success” came packaged in a box with step by step instructions to a “success” that wasn’t necessarily going to make me happy. It felt like I was building the Ikea table of success. However, that kind of success wasn’t making anyone happy because success is being a conscious choice maker. Awareness precedes choice. The moment we have awareness, we have more opportunities open for us. If we are aware of the difference between a door and a door knob, then we can open the door. If we don’t, then we are stuck, and that is no bueno. When we are coming from a place of self-love and nurturing, we truly make better and more defined decisions that lead us to where we want to be and to our own success. The Three G’s. Preston shared his method to being aware of his success in life. He calls this method the three G’s, which are giving, growth, and gratitude. Giving: what you put in is what you get out. So read, listen to podcasts (the Sexyfit Podcast?), audiobooks, eat well, go out into nature, and smile (it literally is his last name). The more good things we put into life, the more good things we will get out of it. Growth: No matter our age, we always have room to grow. We can meditate, dance naked in front of the mirror, feel love for ourselves, and mentally give ourselves the soul food that will help us grow. Gratitude: Preston has adopted an attitude of gratitude, in which he wakes up every morning and thinks about all that he has to be grateful for. His home, his jobs, his wife,….his boogers, everything. This is a beautiful mindset that helps realize just how successful we already are. Mental training is beyond important!
