She has organized the Emerging Nanoscale Materials Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis. Dr. Shatkin is a Research Assistant Professor in the Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and a Research Fellow at The George Perkins Marsh Institute at Clark University.
