"It's better to give than to receive" is a nice saying, but it's hard for us to put into practice sometimes -- especially when it comes to giving back to God what He's given us in the first place! We all too easily spend money on things that bring us immediate earthly pleasure, but the Bible challenges us to spend money in ways that bring eternal reward. When we give freely and cheerfully to our churches and those to whom the Lord prompts us to give, we honor Him by demonstrating obedience and putting Him first above all else. |
