Just as some people are born to become athletes, scientists or musicians, my guest today, Mindi Levins-Pfeifer, found her calling in life at a young age. She was born to instill hope in young people, even in the most dire of circumstances. It is a passion that has driven her throughout her career—a career that now spans more than two decades and has been singularly focused on helping youth in crisis.
During the interview, we cover Sober College's Five Competencies and how they all work together to aid in successful addiction recovery: sobriety, productivity, mental health and emotional growth, physical fitness and life skills.
Recognizing the need for a different kind of treatment program for young adults struggling with addiction, Mindi and her husband Robert utilized their unique expertise and resources to open Sober College’s doors in 2005.
She is tireless in her endeavor to help her young clients rediscover the joys in life and redefine life’s limits.
Listen to this wonderful conversation with one of Addiction Recovery's true innovators.

Recovery Innovators Radio show is to here to help you turn your addiction recovery challenges and failures into successes and freedom from everything that’s keeping you from living the life you deserve.
I check in with innovative experts and individuals in the recovery industry, related fields or just “regular folks” who have had some incredible experiences so we can hear directly from them what is working today for addicts in recovery, for their families and their friends.
I also want this to be a learning tool for professionals in the recovery field, a place where ideas can be nurtured and spread, where networking and education can help addiction treatment become more effective all the time.
It's estimated that 53 million American's are touched by addiction. It is rare if you have not been personally affected by this disease.
So, even if you are not the addict, maybe it's your son or daughter, or Mom or Dad, or sister, brother, cousin, uncle, aunt, co-worker, boss, neighbor, whoever. This disease is impacting you somehow, making your life a little less than what you would like it to be if you could wave a magic wand and create your dream world.
I want these cutting edge ideas to be available to those who need help, those who often cannot afford to access the professional help they need.
My mission here is to do so much good for the recovery community that I have a positive effect on addiction. I want to help hundreds, if not thousands of addicts (maybe millions someday) to be healthy, sober and free, really enjoying their life in sobriety.
