These two really tasty kebabs are well worth the effort!
Ingredients
500g chicken breasts, cut into about 2cm chunks
2 level tsp. Ground cumin
2 level tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1 level tsp turmeric
2 chopped garlic cloves
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Pinch black pepper
4 tablespoons oil
How to do it
Put all the spices , garlic ,salt and oil in a bowl and mix well together.
Ad the chicken pieces and coat well. Cover and leave for a couple of hours in a cool place.
Heat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a pan and fry the chicken all over. Then drain and leave on a plate.
Re-fry in an almost dry pan before serving.
Serving suggestions
You can serve this with rice if you wish, but traditionally it is served in salad filled naan or bread wraps or pittas.
Add a little extra flavour with some mild chilli sauce or some cucumber and minted yoghurt.
The shish is even easier
Ingredients
A thumb sized piece of ginger, grated
4 - 6 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoonCumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
Large onion
150 ml fresh yoghurt
Simply mix everything and marinade the chicken pieces together
Place on skewers with pepper, onion, garlic - anything you like.
Grill under a hot heat until cooked completely. |
