Description: This is a fool proof Christmas Cake: Prepare your tin 225 g butter 225 g soft brown sugar 1 tbsp black treacle zest and juice of a lemon Wisk together 270 g plain flour 2 tsp baking powder Level tsp cinnamon Level tsp mixed spice 1 tsp nutmeg 5 eggs in a jug 1 kg dried fruit 50 g ground almonds 50 g chopped almonds Brandy for preserving. When mixed, bake in the oven at 150 C Gas Mark 2, 300 F Then turn down to 140 Gas 275F
