Pizza is possibly one of the biggest foods to be had anywhere! If they were invented in America by an Italian or in Italy, it is not really known, but all the same there isn’t anywhere in the world you can't get one! Homemade ones are the very very best.
The tomato sauce
Use pasta, for 3 big pizzas about 350 ml
Grate 2 garlic cloves
Black pepper
2 tablespoons of tomato puree
good sprinkling of oregano
The dough
450 g strong flour for a decent pizza
7 g fast action yeast
Level tsp salt
Enough water to make a dough - about 300 ml
1 tbsp oil
Stir salt in first, then yeast
Make a well, add the water
Mix the dough, and it should be sticky
Knead for 5 minutes
Rest while you get the rest together
Heat the oven to the highest temperature you can achieve
Roll out the pizza onto whatever receptacle you are using
Add the tomato first then the cheeses - which ever you are using (we use Red Leicester, Cheddar and Mozzarella
Then your filling, a bit more cheese
Any toppings you choose really is all you need. My favourite is tuna and anchovy, but you can use pepperoni, chorizo, any number of toppings as per the audio. |
