Cherry and almond buns
This is one of the easiest bun recipes to make.
Makes about 12 buns.
Use cup cake sized bun cases.
You will need:
150 g real butter, at room temperature.
150 g golden caster sugar
100 g self raising flour
50 g ground almonds
2 good sized eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
60 g cherries, chopped
Cream together the butter, sugar and almond extract
Sieve in a little of the almond and flour mix and add the eggs, and whisk together.
Then add the rest of the flour and almond extract and mix in the cherries, mixing with a spoon.
Add a dessert spoon per bun case.
Preheat the oven to 175 C, Gas 3, 325 F
Bake for about 15 - 18 minutes, not opening the door at all until 15 minutes |
