In this episode, Diana loses it big style!
The Mr D's Thermal Cooker is a bit like a large thermos flask. You cook food in a pot, boiling it for about 10 minutes (or less sometimes) and then put this pot into a special outer pot that retains the heat. Therefore the food cooks without any more heat.
This particular recipe is for pulled pork, and requires another quick boiling for just a couple of minutes after 4 hours in the cooker.
It is a simple but delicious recipe, well worth a try, and would work in a slow cooker.
Pulled Pork cooked in a Mr D's Thermal Cooker. Brilliantly tasty!
1 Kg Pork loin
1 Large onion diced
4 Garlic cloves, crushed and diced
2 Tablespoons Paprika
2 Tablespoons Soft Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons American Yellow Mustard
4 Tablespoons Tomato Puree
500 ml Stock
250 ml Apple Cider Vinegar
Good splash of Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Saute 1 large onion with 4 garlic cloves in a little oil
Place a kilo of pork loin in the pan
On top of this add 2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar
2 tablespoons of Yellow American mustard
4 tablespoons tomato puree
Add to the side (don't was the previous ingredients) 500 ml stock and 250 ml Apple Cider Vinegar
A good dash of Worcestershire Sauce
Bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes
Put the inner pot in the outer pot and leave to cook for 4 hours (If you are using a thermal cooker then put it on high)
With the thermal cooker bring the inner pot back to the boil after four hours cooking - this should take only a few minutes
Remove the pork from the sauce and shred - returning the meat to the juices, which you can thicken with cornflour and season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt |
