You will need
180 g plain flour
2 eggs
600 ml milk
12 thick pork sausages
Lard for greasing
100 g Cheddar
Salt and pepper
Preheat the oven to 200 C, 425 F, Gas 7
Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, blend the eggs with the milk
Whisk the milk into the flour and keep on whisking until bubbles appear in the batter
Lightly brown the sausages in a pan or under the grill
Stir half the cheese into the batter
Put the lard in a roasting dish and place in the oven to get hot
Add the batter and the sausages into the hot batter
Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes in the hot oven |
