These are ultra rich biscuits you can make at any time of the year - the Christmassy bit comes from the decoration.
Cream together:
200 g very soft butter
50 g icing sugar
1 - 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
Sift and beat into the creamed mixture:
100 g plain flour
80 g self Raising flour
20 g cornflour
For the topping:
120 g chocolate
1 small knob of butter
Grease and line 2 baking sheets
Preheat the oven to 180 C, 350 F, Gas 4
When the dough is formed, either spoon on the sheets or spoon into the piping bag.
Leave a couple of centimetres (1 inch) between each biscuit.
Bake for 12 - 15 minutes then take the whole sheet out and allow the biscuits to cool before handling.
Spoon or dip each biscuit in chocolate and decorate to make them look all Christmassy. |
