Description: Meat Loaf - burgers! 500 g minced beef 400 g minced pork 90 g breadcrumbs 1 level teaspoon pepper 1/2 teaspoon white pepper 1/2 teaspoon of oregano 1 teaspoon sweet paprika 1/2 - 1 teaspoon chilli powder Some balsamic vinegar - or balsamic glaze Use lean pork and lean mince Carefully mix all the ingredients in a bowl - start by mixing the meats and then the seasonings. Add mix the seasonings very throughly, massaging for many minutes Grease 0r oil and line a loaf tin - the lining acts as a cradle to help removing the meatloaf after cooking Bake at 180ºC, 350ºF, Gas 4 (NOT 375ºF, 350ºF) for 40 minutes then turn down to 170ºC, 325ºC, Gas 3 for another 40 minutes Remove to a baking sheet and pop into the oven to give a crust at 180ºC, 350ºF, Gas 4 for another ten minutes To make the sauce Juices from the meatloaf are brought to the boil and then added salt and pepper, tomato puree or pasta and a little sugar We served them with some homemade halloumi If you let the meatloaf cool, it can be sliced and reheated and then served on buns with fried halloumi There are lots of variations you could use this basic recipe. add bacon, remove the spices add Chinese five spice and ginger and garlic - there are so many alternative ways cooking!
