Dried Fruit Crumble
Crumble is such an easy dish to make and is equally versatile. You can make any number of crumbles in pretty much the same way.
You will need
500 g mixed drie fruit
50 ml water
200 ml apple juice or orange juice
80 g golden caster sugar
1/2 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sprinkle the sugar over the fruit in a pan with the other ingredients.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Allow to cool
Butter an ovenproof dish and add the fruit
300 g plain flour
50 g porridge oats
180 g golden caster sugar
180 g butter
You can either put it in the food processor and mix or rub the butter into the flour and then fold the sugar into this mix
Sprinkle the crumble mix over the fruit and bake at 190ºC, 375ºf, Gas 4 for 30 minutes.
Allow to cool a little before serving. |
