Michael sits down with his colleague and friend, Tim McCurdy, PsyD to discuss the experience of being a supervisory psychologist involved in the training of soon to be psychologists in the art of therapy.
Tim McCurdy, Psy.D., HSPP, is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Child and Family Services at Porter-Starke Services in Northwest Indiana. Born in northern Michigan and raised in South Carolina, he obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Telecommunication at Michigan State University before completing his MA and Psy.D. at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. McCurdy’s clinical interests include play therapy, clinical supervision, community mental health, and social-emotional learning. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL, and in addition to his regular duties, Dr. McCurdy started a doctoral externship program at Porter-Starke and he provides clinical supervision to students completing their Therapy and Advanced practicums.
