Technology is difficult to keep up with but luckily Jason and Mike Etchart are always ready to update us on the latest and greatest from the industry. We begin the hour discussing Apple's World Wide Developers Conference and touch on the sneak peek into what's in store for their future. This conference mostly introduced new software updates such as iOS 12, which will work fine on older phones and is not forcing anyone to upgrade their phone at this time. Apple has also increased the number of FaceTimers to 32 people at once and they have added an Animoji filter option. Then, Apple announced that they will keep in line with their top-of-the-line motto by introducing devices that will support Dolby Atmos, which is the next level of surround sound that has made its way to our speakers. Mike and Jason then go on to talk about Apple music, and the strides they are making to keep up with the other leading music streaming applications such as Spotify. Apple is continuing to wow us with their advancements and their incredible ecosystem. Next, we chat with Geoff Morrison of The Wire Cutter, who discusses HDR (high dynamic range) technology that is now in many TVs. He explains what you can get for your money in terms of quality viewing experiences and talks about the evolution of television technology. Geoff also goes in depth describing the difference between 2k, 4k, and 8k while explaining how important they are in the TVs we consider buying. Lastly, Geoff tells us about the newest broadcasting standard that will be here by winter of 2020. ATSC 3.0 will deliver Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos over the air for free and will most likely have a box that you integrate into your entertainment system. If your home is in need of a technology update, we have the information you need to make the best decision.
