Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) President and CEO Julie Rochman spoke with Insurance Journal’s Elizabeth Blosfield about the safety nets that are in place in the wake of a natural disaster and how she believes this is contributing to a lack of incentive in obtaining private insurance. She discussed the importance of taking personal responsibility and owning risk when a disaster strikes. Rochman was a panelist at the Insurance Information Institute’s 2018 P/C Joint Industry Forum, held January 16 at New York City’s Marriott Marquis.
