Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) President and CEO Julie Rochman spoke with Insurance Journal’s Elizabeth Blosfield about the need for better building codes to combat the impact of natural disasters, particularly following the many natural disasters experienced in 2017. She discussed the influence of ratings agencies in influencing local policymakers to take action regarding better building codes and standards of resilience. Rochman was a panelist at the Insurance Information Institute’s 2018 P/C Joint Industry Forum, held January 16 at New York City’s Marriott Marquis.
