The office of the insurance commissioner in Oklahoma is an elected position. The current commissioner, John D. Doak, is term limited and cannot run again; his successor will be determined in the general election that takes place on Nov. 6, 2018.

Glenn Mulready, the Republican candidate for insurance commissioner, has 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, is a small business owner and currently is a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He previously served as the House insurance committee chairman and is now the floor leader emeritus.
