Matt and Jonny are back to the classic format, just two bros sittin' around, talking about Christian punk.
This episode we talk about Ninety Pound Wuss and Squad Five-O, two bands that evolved dramatically throughout their careers in both sound and relationship to the Christian Music Industry. From skate punk and punk-ska to post-hardcore and alt-metal respectively.
We also introduce possible criticisms to Tooth and Nail's relationship with fledgling Christian punk bands. We look at these two band's reasons for bristling at the 'Christian band' label and will use this episode as a launching point for further looks at Tooth and Nail and the 'Christian band' v. 'band of Christians' distinction in further episodes. |
