Hour 1: The border controversy explodes onto the cover of Time Magazine, with the President photo-shopped to look down on a viral photo of a migrant child crying at the border, supposedly ripped from her mother's arms. The problem? The story behind the photo is totally false. And as parents know, children cry. Are these photos persuasive at all? Callers point out that both sides have an interest in the status quo, and the parents sending these children to the border have most of the blame. Can the media be trusted? They want your trust, but have they earned it? And although they tell the truth some of the time, when we catch them lying, does that hurt us all?
Hour 2: The NFL suspends Jameis Winston for allegedly grabbing female Uber driver's crotch. Multiple game suspension over a report that found nothing other than he didn't report the incident fast enough for the NFL... but this is a symptom of a bigger issue. Company's are taking action before they really know what has happened... Stu says we should let the police be the police, instead of organizations ending people's careers over unsubstantiated rumors. Scott Lincicome from the Cato Institute joins Stu to discuss how even though tariffs seem tempting, they are a bad idea. The costs downstream to consumers dramatically outweigh the potential gains, and Scott explains how they are a fundamentally unconservative thing.
Hour 3: American's have 100 times as many guns as every branch of the military, combined. The public bought more guns in the last two months than the military have on hand. A gun grab in America is not likely, according to Stu. If the government were to try and take your guns, it would mean MILLIONS of dead Americans, and what is the point of ruling a killing field? Spoons returns, and we try Taco Bells newest chip offering, along with a cereal trial. Then Sara Gonzales joins Stu to discuss the story of Joseph Chandler, a war hero who hid behind the identity of a young boy for decades, and a student turns down a once in a lifetime music education...or did he? And Blue Bell attempts to soften their image by changing the name of their Neapolitan ice cream from the Great Divide to something a little more PC.
