Description:

We ve done many podcasts now on Software Defined Whatever.  Most of those shows are focused on diving deep into SDN technology and how protocols such as OpenFlow are meant to work.  Let s face it – this is fascinating stuff to a bunch of engineers.  But over and beyond just being cool technology SDN must solve a problem.

In this podcast, we sit down with Paul Unbehagen, an expert in SPB and Data Center design, to talk about real-world applications for the Software Defined Data Center and how a combination of SPB and OpenStack  (an open source cloud operating system) can help automate many of the tasks that  frankly should be automated.  Why are we still provisioning core VLAN s?  Why does it still take significant time and cross team coordination to deploy and move applications?

Don t worry we keep it technical.  Learn more about SPB, learn more about OpenStack and learn how the combination of the two can lead you to a more automated and simplified data center environment.
