Many network engineers have been involved in network mergers. That is, your company bought another company, or your company was bought. And now there s got to be a squishy merging of IT staff, network connections, address spaces, firewalls, WAN connections, and so on. In fact, we talked about network mergers in Packet Pushers Weekly Show 234.
A less frequent occurrence are business divestitures. That is, a company you re part of gets rid of some part of the business, selling it off or otherwise separating it from the main body. How does the network engineer deal with that situation?
Joining us to share his lessons learned in separating networking one from another is Jeremy Filliben, who s been on the show before. Jeremy is a network engineer for a Fortune 500 insurance company and owner of a networking training company. You can connect with Jeremy at his blog, and on Twitter and LinkedIn.
