Today s show is the latest in our Future of Networking series, where we peer over the horizon to speculate about what the future will hold.
Our guest is Brighten Godfrey, the co-founder and CTO of Veriflow. He’s also an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
What struck us about Brighten is his experience with network modeling, software, and intent. Given that intent-based networking is flavor of the month, we thought it would make sense to dive into the guts of the technology. And of course, we’ll run down as many rat holes as we can find.
We discuss how intent-based networking is different from SDN and traditional, CLI-based device configuration and management.
We also look at concepts including formal verification, graph databases, and the rise of software and automation in networking.
