In other tech business news, Western Digital snapped up SanDisk, and SolarWinds announced it was going private with the help of Silver Lake Partners, a private investor that also helped Dell go the same route.

The Let’s Encrypt project, which provides free digital certificates to domain name owners to help encourage the use of HTTPS, announced that its certs are now trusted by all the major browsers.
