Arista announces a new 1U switch that targets IP storage and digital media, Mellanox rolls out a new processor family called BlueField, and Endace announces a new network probe that captures traffic at up to 40 Gbps.

VMware joins the IoT party with a new development platform called Liota, and IDC reports that videoconferencing equipment shrank for the quarter, but grew for the year.

Palo Alto Networks beat the street in its most recent earnings call, but other issues have raised investor concerns. Meanwhile, Broadcom reports that switching and broadband boosted its overall portfolio.

Last but not least, Infloblox has hired Morgan Stanley to investigate a buyout offer that wold take the company private.
