Today. Viptela has agreed to be acquired by Cisco.

Cisco s ability to provide software defined WAN with the current IOS technology isn’t working out too well. Mostly, we hear negative feedback about iWAN, APIC-EM and Prime, which is the SD-WAN strategy. We also hear that Cisco hasn t been winning deals in the Enterprise WAN space even when the discounts are aggressive.

Ethan and Greg have jumped on the microphones for an unplanned, free-form discussion of a bunch of thoughts on both sides of the acquisition. On balance, we are both excited about this and believe it’s going to be a positive outcome for customers.
